Quite a bit of travel this week with two trips into Fort Worth. One was Wednesday as our 5th graders attended Vocations Day at All Saints Catholic School where they celebrated Mass with Bishop Olson and heard from professed religious and seminarians regarding discerning their vocation in life. The other trip was Friday as the faculty attended an in-service day with all of the other teachers of our Diocese. The day began with Mass offered by Bishop Olson and then teachers heard from Monsignor Hart (Chancellor & Moderator of the Curia) on the true mission of Catholic education and from St. Maria Goretti Principal Leah Rios on differentiated classroom instruction in a Catholic school. I would also like to take a moment to recognize Mrs. Cindy Huckabee who received her service pin from the Diocese in recognition of 20 years of service here at Notre Dame. Throw in Financial Aid night on Monday evening and Valentine’s Day and it was a busy week. Looking forward to next week, don’t forget that we do not have school on Monday. Finally , please remember that FACTS applications for tuition assistance for the 2017-2018 school year are due March 1. God bless.

It was a short but full week again at the LC. Many thanks to our dedicated and tireless room parents for fun-filled St. Valentine’s Day parties for our LC students. I truly enjoyed my time with the 5th Grade at their Vocations Day on Wednesday and was proud of our girls’ enthusiastic participation in their session. Finally, the LC Spelling Bee on Thursday was a big success, with all our younger students in attendance and in suspense. Congratulations to our winner, Malec Chambers, and our runner-up Julian Hurst!
