The generosity of our school community almost never ceases to amaze me.
Yet I was pleasantly surprised by the outpouring of support we received last year during the annual Texoma Gives day – a 16-hour fundraising event for community non-profits.
We doubled our original fundraising goal, raising more than $5,000 in contributions from parents, alumni and supporters of Catholic education. It was clear to see that our Notre Dame family is capable of great things when we come together for a worthy purpose.
I believe this year’s cause is equally deserving of your support on Thursday, Sept. 12.
Our school is blessed by the facilities we enjoy thanks to past generations of NDCS supporters. Our Upper Campus gym is rich with tradition and fond memories from athletic games, pep rallies, music concerts, theatre productions, fundraising events and graduation every May. It is also in need of a significant renovation.
One part of this project is updating the home and visitor bleachers, which have far surpassed their working lifespan. The installation of new bleachers at a cost of $50,000 will both improve the fan experience and ensure our facilities meet all modern safety standards. All proceeds we receive from this year’s Texoma Gives campaign will go towards achieving this goal before the end of this school year.
Donating online is easy by visiting our school’s fundraising page at https:// www.texomagives.org/organizations/notre-dame-catholic-school. All online donations also give our school a chance to win several cash prizes throughout the day. Contributions may also be made by cash, check or credit card directly at the school during this timeframe.
I have learned better than to doubt the resolve of our Notre Dame family, especially when it comes to showing how proud we all are of our school. I am looking forward to celebrating another successful fundraising campaign with you all.
