Notre Dame Principal Michael Edghill announced the school’s Lower Campus will be instituting a new Latin program starting in the fall of 2016.
The Rooted Mind Latin & Greek Roots Program is an educational program designed to introduce students to Latin and Greek roots and their meanings. The intent is to instill in students the discipline to deconstruct words into their basic roots and unlock the meaning of those words.
The program consists of three levels to reinforce root meanings.
Edghill said Notre Dame, which currently offers Latin I, II & III in its high school curriculum, is excited to begin this new academic adventure. Highlights from Edghill’s Coffee & Donuts informational session explaining the program and how it will be instituted can be viewed above.
